Whether you are familiar to the area of North Norfolk, or have only just moved to the area, like I did only a matter of years ago, I had to build my repertoire of ‘little black book of wellness gems’ from complete scratch. Wellness has always been a long standing passion of mine, and I endeavour to find the very best practitioners of their skill.
Averille Morgan - clinically known as an osteopath but in actual fact, I am doing this lady what can only be described as having ‘special powers’ a disservice by calling her that- she is like the ultimate white witch and widely known in the area for her healing hands and ability to alleviate unknown causes of pain and ailments. She has a very gentle soft approach but is known for her quietly understated ability to heal, like no other. You couldn’t train to do what this lady does- it’s a gift.
Rachel Blunt - yoga teacher and complete ray of sunshine in one human being- who actually makes yoga fun and enjoyable. I have a slight love hate relationship with yoga- as I naturally find it quite boring (controversial I know), despite knowing the benefits of how incredibly good it is for the mind body and soul. I always feel incredibly uplifted and restored after a session. Rachel organises over the summer months sunrise yoga; We set off at 6.30 am, take a short boat trip over to Scult Head Island, enjoy a yoga flow, whilst listening to the healing sounds of the ocean and sea birds calling as the sun rises and warms your bones. There is the option of a post yoga sea swim after, and a delicious healthy breakfast awaits on the ferry back to Burnham Overy harbour. If you haven’t experienced Rachel’s home-made energy balls, this are by far the best ones you will ever taste, they are made with love by this truly lovely soul. If you haven’t yet mastered where to begin with Yoga, Rachel is the one to show you and has a great online platform.
Bo Tyler - Nutritionist. It is so underestimated how many health and skin conditions could truly benefit from seeing someone like Bo. She has a wealth of knowledge on nutrition and gives the most honest unbiased information in abundance on whatever the health goal is that you are trying to achieve- whether you are trying to navigate a healthier lifestyle by what food choices to make, or if the focus is more subjective; I recommend a lot of my clients who are struggling with acne or certain skin conditions which could be triggered by dietary choices, or who may have potential intolerances to see this lady- who might I add, is the picture of health. She covers an extensive broad area of knowledge, for those struggling with fertility, menopause, or a chronic health condition- which requires more longevity based guidance. Bo has a warmth, that makes you feel at total ease, and is a real sharer of her wisdom to get the best outcome for you.
Gemma Challis (The Norfolk Retreat) - the most naturally gifted reflexologist. Not only does she have the most warming, calm demeanour about her, but she is incredibly skilled at what she does. With specialities in pre and post-natal reflexology, fertility and scar therapy, particularly post surgery or C section. Gemma holds an abundance of knowledge and wellbeing tips for women’s health, which she is always more than willing to share with you. I have personally learned many overlooked simple tips from Gemma, ensuring keeping our feet warm optimises fertility, to having regular Epsom salt baths, improving circulation and increasing magnesium levels- great for stress relief.
I hope these wellbeing recommendations from some of my favoured practitioners add to your life, or that of a friend/ loved one, as much as they have mine.
